DataPenny vs DataFast

Both tell you which post made the sale. DataFast is hosted, with more integrations. DataPenny is open source and runs on your own Cloudflare account.

DataFast is the product that made this category popular, and it’s a good one. If you want someone else to run everything, it’s the obvious place to look.

When DataFast is the better pick

  • You want a hosted product today and no setup at all.
  • You sell on Shopify or WooCommerce and want a native connection.
  • You want Search Console keywords, social mentions or Meta ads attribution in the same dashboard.
  • You want native phone apps.

When DataPenny is the better pick

  • You want to read the code, change it and keep your install forever.
  • You’d rather your visits and sales stayed in your own account.
  • You have many sites or a lot of events, and don’t want the bill to grow with them.
  • You take payments through Razorpay.

Switching

DataPenny reads DataFast’s conventions. data-fast-goal attributes, window.datafast() calls, the datafast_visitor_id cookie and checkout metadata keep working, and the Payments API takes the same field names. On most sites you swap the script tag, and sales that carry the old id still match.
