Getting started

The repository opens at launch. Join the waitlist to hear the day it does. In the meantime, the live demo is the real dashboard.

DataPenny shows which post, search or link made each sale. Getting there takes three things: a running install, a script tag on your site, and a connection to whatever takes your payments.

1. Run it on your Cloudflare account

DataPenny is one Cloudflare Worker and one D1 database in your own account. From a clone of the repository:

npm run setup

That installs dependencies, logs you in to Cloudflare, creates the database, deploys and asks for a dashboard password. It ends by printing your dashboard address and your script tag. The install guide covers each step.

2. Add the script tag

Add this tag to the <head> your pages share:

<script defer data-site="site_yourapp" src="https://YOUR-DATAPENNY-URL/js/script.js"></script>

Open your site in a normal browser window, and the visit shows up on the dashboard within a few seconds. Single-page apps and subdomains work without extra code. The script guide has steps for Next.js, WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Framer and others.

3. Connect your payments

Open Setup → Payments on the dashboard, pick your provider and paste one API key. DataPenny creates the webhook for you and never stores the key. Razorpay has no API for that, so it’s connected by hand. For Stripe, Dodo Payments, Razorpay, Lemon Squeezy and Polar you can also import the last 12 months of sales.

Payment links from most providers are tagged by the script. Checkouts you create on your own server need one extra field. Revenue attribution explains which, per provider.

4. Read your first receipt

The next sale appears on the dashboard with the source that brought the buyer, how long they took and which pages they saw. From there:
