You need Node.js 22 or later and a Cloudflare account. The free plan works.
git clone https://github.com/heysidhant/datapenny
cd datapenny
npm run setup
What setup does
- Installs dependencies and logs you in to Cloudflare, which opens your browser.
- Creates the
datapennyD1 database, writes its id intoapps/worker/wrangler.jsoncand applies the migrations. - Asks for a dashboard password of 12 or more characters, and the domain you want to track.
- Builds and deploys the Worker, and stores
ENCRYPTION_KEYandDASHBOARD_PASSWORDas Worker secrets.
It ends by printing your dashboard URL and the script tag for your site.
Running it again is safe. It reuses the database, secrets and sites, and applies only new migrations.
Options
npx datapenny site add shop.example.com # track another site
npx datapenny deploy --dry-run # print every command without running it
npx datapenny deploy --account <id> # pick an account when your login has several
You can also add sites from the dashboard’s site list.
After installing
Open the *.workers.dev address from the output, sign in, and follow Setup. To use your own subdomain, see Custom domain.
