Connect
- In Paddle, create an API key under Developer tools → Authentication, with the
notification_setting.writepermission. - Paste it (
pdl_live_apikey_…) into Setup → Payments → Paddle.
DataPenny creates the webhook and never stores the key.
By hand
Add a destination under Developer tools → Notifications, with the type set to Webhook and Platform events, pointing at https://YOUR-DATAPENNY-URL/api/webhooks/paddle/YOUR_SITE_ID. Subscribe to transaction.completed, adjustment.created and adjustment.updated, then paste the secret key (pdl_ntfset_…) under Connect by hand.
Checkouts
Paddle checkout links can’t carry custom data, so pass it to Paddle.js:
Paddle.Checkout.open({
items,
customData: {
datapenny_visitor_id: datapenny.visitorId(),
datapenny_session_id: datapenny.sessionId(),
},
});
Or put the same JSON in a data-custom-data attribute on your paddle_button. Paddle copies it to the subscription, so renewals are credited too.
Past sales
Paddle history can’t be imported yet. New sales arrive from the moment the webhook is connected.
