Path to purchase

You’ll find this card on the Revenue page. It starts at a customer’s first payment and walks back to the day they first arrived.

  • Time and visits to buy. Median values, and a chart of the spread from buying on the first visit to taking three months or more.
  • Found by, credited to. A flow chart joining the source of the first visit to the source that earned the sale. A tweet might introduce someone who buys weeks later through a Google search, and this is where those hand-offs show.
  • Pages seen before paying. Each page, with the share of customers who viewed it.
  • The buying visit. The page sequences most often walked in the session that ended in a sale.
  • First sources. A table of customers, time, visits and revenue per source. Sources whose customers buy within a day earn an Impulse badge, and those taking over a week earn Slow burner.

A customer appears once, at their first purchase, since a renewal or a repeat order isn’t a fresh decision. Sales with no linked visitor can’t be followed, so they’re left out. Sources & attribution explains how the link gets made.
